Working from a studio in Bath, Jan creates beautiful
garments adorned with intricate embroidery. Her favorite imagery
includes floral designs in appliqué, three-dimensional embroidery
and ribbon work with a truly realistic feel
all worked
and individually made by herself. She is constantly inspired by the
surrounding countryside, beautiful gardens,
all we love about nature and her
extensive collection of antique china and vintage clothing.
Jan graduated from Loughborough College of Art and Design with a B.A. (Hons)
in Textiles / Fashion specialising in embroidery. After
working as a textile artist, knitwear designer and wardrobe mistress she
decided to turn her attention to creating one-off garments which are the perfect
vehicle for her style of embroidery. The fact that one of her
designs won the embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards 2001 means that
it is regarded as the best example of its kind in Britain by the profession
itself and that she is considered to be one of the
country's most
talented bridal wear designers.

All of her creations are designed
specifically for the individual client making each one
unique. At your first consultation, Jan will listen to your
ideas and wishes before
coming up with her own suggestions on what styles
will suit you best and make you feel extra special. By working closely
together throughout the entire design process your fantasy can become a
reality. She can create your dream outfit which is truly a work of art that
will be treasured for years to come and could become a family heirloom.
Jan has
been referred to as "Bath's best kept secret" and it is easy to see
why. Her unusual designs that she creates with such loving care
can now be seen in the
top London salon -
Chelsea Collections in Fulham Road, as well as her own studio in her
lovely period home but they are still more affordable than those made by
London based designers. In fact, the tiaras start at £50 and the dresses
at around £1000. Some of her exquisite tops and bodices can cost
as little as £250.
Jan is based in the World
Heritage City of Bath, just 1.5 hours from London and within easy reach of
Bristol, Cardiff, Swindon etc.

for the groom. As she is also a director of an executive car hire service that
provides
wedding cars she
can also make sure that the car, ribbon and flowers tie in with the overall
look.
Although Jan makes beautiful dresses
to be married in, her designs are equally suitable for any special occasion
from an evening out to a day at the Races or even a truly unique garment to
wear to the Oscars. Likewise she can also create special outfits for
other members of the wedding party including the "mother of the bride".
